What makes this Ghost Blaster Shooting Game so exciting?
The excitement of our plastic PET Bottle Ghost Blaster Shooting Game comes from the simple physics concept of creating an air gun using a partial vacuum with a balloon and plastic PET bottle. These things can be found in most houses or classrooms, but students are amazed when they realize that they can make a real-life ghost busting blaster!
Are plastic PET Bottle Ghost Blasters safe?
Yes! In fact, it’s much safer to shoot ghosts with plastic PET Bottle Ghost Blasters than real guns. There is only a small burst of air created and it’s harmless, except to ghosts. How to make and play the Ghost Blaster Shooting Game
The Ghost Blaster Shooting Game is probably one of our easiest Halloween crafts yet, and kids will have hours of fun blasting ghosts! Just follow the three simple steps below.
Step 1 – Prepare the plastic bottle for the Ghost Blasters
Cut off the bottom of the plastic PET bottle to make the cylinder of the plastic PET Bottle Ghost Blaster air gun. The edges might be a little bit jagged or sharp, so it’s important to put a layer of electrical tape around this to keep it safe for children. This also prevents the balloon from tearing or ripping after it’s attached.
If you want to decorate the plastic PET Bottle Ghost Blaster air guns, feel free to print out our template on B4 sized paper (25 x 35.3 cm 9.8 x 13.9 in.), color it, and put it inside the plastic bottle before attaching the balloon.
Step 2 – Attach the balloon to the plastic PET bottle
Tie a knot in the balloon like in the picture and then cut a small piece from the top of the balloon. Next, stretch it over the wide part of the plastic PET bottle and attach it with another layer of tape.
You can continue to decorate the Ghost Blaster with markers, ribbons, or googly eyes if you want.
Step 3 – Cut out and color the ghosts
Finally, download our free template of ghosts with points to play the Ghost Blaster Shooting Game. There are 12 ghosts total, and each one has a different point value on the bottom. When you shoot a ghost, it will fall over and reveal the points. We recommend printing these on thicker paper like card stock to make them a little more durable.
For an additional classroom activity, you can print a page of ghosts for each student and let them color them to make their own original ghosts.
